HEALING 2 THE NATIONS INTERNATIONAL
Ask of Me, and I will make the nations your inheritance. (Ps 2:8)
Day 2439. After Randy had left to take the kids to school, I only had little time to get more sleep as my alarm already went off at 9:30 am. I taught from 10 to 11, then from 11:30 to 12:30. Then I went to the kitchen to cut up my salad that I would normally have eaten at night, while Randy also cooked what he normally eats at night. I then sat down to eat and take a break; I was really tired. Randy left just after 1 pm to pick up Tammy and Emmy from school, while I left just before 1:30 pm to pick up Sammy. Sammy was really sad as it was the last day his physiotherapist was at the school so he had to say good-bye to her. He talked about her for the rest of the day; you could tell he was going to miss her.
Back home, I sat down to get ready for my 2:20 pm student. Randy and the kids returned home at 2:30 pm. I taught until 3:20 pm, then I made sandwiches for the kids. I would have liked to do piano practice next but there was no time for that. It was time to pack as it was our only time we had to pack. I had a list of what they needed to bring and gave the kids their own little kids' suitcases. I'd call out what they need, and they'd go get it and put it into their bags. It was very efficient, and that way we got it all done. Pretty much everything was packed. It was time for us to put our shoes on and leave the house. I was thankful I had been able to get everything done.
Tammy, Emmy and I took the 4:20 pm train, then the tram to the school where they have their exercise class. They were able to do their reading practice. Once there, they grabbed their bottles and sticker books and went inside. I stayed in the locker room, with my phone and the paper that I read until I got so tired I could not go on so I closed my eyes.
As for Randy and Sammy, they did not go to Sammy's wheelchair class. Instead, they left the house at 5 pm and crossed town to get to the 6 pm family birthday reunion at a restaurant on time. Tammy and Emmy were having fun doing session 2 of 5 of "parkour" where you have to tackle obstacles. At 5:45 pm the class was over. When Tammy came into the locker room, she had Max, the mascot, in her arm. Every week another kid gets to take it home, and I couldn't believe that it was Tammy's turn this week of all weeks! She was very excited; it was her second time this year.
We walked to the tram and took it to the subway. Then we had to ride that subway line entirely from one end to the other. After we had gotten off, we got on a bus that we rode for two stops. Then all we had to do was to walk into the restaurant. It was 6:30 pm so we were only half an hour late.
We were celebrating my brother's 50th birthday. I was glad to be able to sit next to him and that way have the opportunity to get to talk to him. We only see each other about once a year and never talk so I greatly appreciated it. I found out that everybody had already given him their gifts so it was our turn. Emmy went first with his gift, then I gave him the big cake. It was the cake my Grandma had always made for him when we were growing up. I had discovered it in a bakery. Next Tammy gave him her gift that she had wrapped herself, then Sammy gave him another gift. After that he was busy opening gifts. Tammy and Emmy had both painted a mug for him, and they were proud of their work. I had given him a comfy blanket with lots of fun stuff on it about being 50.
Then it was finally time to order our food. The kids were already pretty hungry even though they'd had a sandwich. We ordered, and they soon brought the food. Later they also had dessert. They were enjoying themselves but they were getting pretty tired. At 8:30 pm we went around saying good-bye to everybody and left. It was gonna take us a while to get home, and they usually go to bed at 8 pm. Sammy was already so tired he actually cried at one time. We walked to the tram stop and rode it to the end, then got on the subway. By 9:20 pm we were home. The kids put their pj's on and went to bed. Sammy fell asleep immediately but for the others it surprisingly took longer. I then sat down by my computer. I had moved my 8 pm student to the night before so no more student. I did have to print out some papers for the kids' trip starting the next morning. It was 2 am, as usual, when I went to bed. During the night, Emmy came to my bed to sleep next to me like he does every night. Even Tammy came to me after two nights of not coming.
