Day 2546. The kids were up early, as usual, and were eager to play with the parents of the house, or grandparents. Tammy kept coming into the room and waking me up which was pretty annoying, especially as having both kids in bed with me last night and them having a restless night had meant sleep that was interrupted a lot. Just after 10 am I got up to get ready for my 11 am student; I was too tired to have breakfast. I taught until noon, then we had lunch with our hosts, and greatly enjoyed both the food and the fellowship, especially since our time in Wichita was so short this time around.

At 2:30 we got into the car to drive the short distance to my good friends' house. I used to stay with them in the past, from the first time I came to Wichita about 18 years ago. It was so great to see them again. We talked and talked, while the kids had their tablets with them to keep them occupied. After fruit, we had pizza at 5 pm. We also tried to call Paul as he loves them and has also stayed at their house before but unfortunately he was unable to be on a call with us.

Just after 6 pm it was time to say good-bye. We got into the car and drove back north, but not back to our hosts' house. Instead we went to their daughter's house and joined the gathered family there. There was a cat, and four kittens (in a cage) there that the kids really enjoyed. They also played a game, throwing sacks into a hole. Then we went inside where we had dessert. I was extremely tired, and Randy was tired too, plus the kids' bedtime was approaching, so we left around 7:45 to return to the house and put the kids to bed. By 8:30 they were in bed; there was still some drama as Tammy wanted to be in a bed with me, but so did Emmy, and I told them I only wanted one kid in my bed so I'd actually be able to get some sleep myself. So they switched a few times. And you won't believe it, but I went to bed at 8:30 pm with them. I was still awake at 9 pm but fell asleep soon after.
