HEALING 2 THE NATIONS INTERNATIONAL
Ask of Me, and I will make the nations your inheritance. (Ps 2:8)
Day 2548. Last night it was 2 am before I made it to bed. I was glad that my student this morning had canceled. The kids woke me up but they went upstairs to play with the kids of the house. They did wake me up a few times, and at 10 am I got up myself. It was nice to be able to take my time.
Just after 11 am we left the house to drive the 1 hour 45 minutes back to Topeka. Originally we were gonna leave Wichita this morning to drive to Kansas City and were going to stop in Topeka on the way. As we had to go to KC last night, we had to drive back to Topeka to meet our friends . We got there at 1 pm; it was so great to see them again, especially as it had not worked out last year to get together. We had a wonderful time of fellowship, talking and catching up with each other. Unfortunately they had to leave at 2:30 pm, so we said good-bye and until next time.
We also left but before going back to KC, we stopped at my favorite icecream place in the whole world. Randy and the kids had also had some of the free icecream at the sandwich restaurant, so I got my favorite icecream, then we started our journey back to KC. Eventually I closed my eyes and actually fell asleep for a short time, even though I kept being woken up. After just over an hour, we pulled up at the big Christian store that is a must-visit when we're in town.
When we went inside, I was shocked to see that half the store had been torn down. There was not much left. We walked through the remains of the store and found a Christian shirt for each child and a cute cap for Tammy. I asked them what was going on, and the lady said that they are reducing the size of the store.
Back in the car, we continued our journey back to the house southeast of Kansas City. On the way there, we stopped at Walmart, and I went inside by myself to buy a few groceries while Randy and the kids waited in the car. Then we got some gas and by 6:45 pm we were back at the house.
The kids were eager to play with the children of the house but first we had some dinner, then they went upstairs to play with them. I had some much-needed office work to get done. We let the kids stay up longer than usual - we're going to California in a few days after all (where it's 2 hours earlier) - they showered, and we still read a story, so it was 9:30 pm before they went to bed. I then continued working on the computer. Now it's going on 2 am again, and I'd better go to bed.
