Day 2414. Easter Sunday, the morning the kids had been waiting for! When they got up - early, as usual - they found the bags Grandma had brought for them. Then they had to wait. Eventually Randy got up and made breakfast, and after having eaten, they went downstairs for the Easter egg hunt. This year we only had chocolate eggs, no toy eggs. Randy helped Sammy find eggs before his siblings had found them all. They were very excited, filling their bags with eggs. Then they ran upstairs to show me what they had found. I was still in bed and got up in time to make lunch for everyone. The kids knew I still had a special gift for them, so they kept asking for it. Then I gave Tammy and Emmy their first "real" Bible, a Bible they can read now that they have learned most letters. It's a Bible with all chapters and verses that they can look up. It had dots on the front and the back and dot stickers so they could personalize their Bibles which they started doing right away.

After we had eaten lunch, we had some time to relax, then got ready to leave the house for another Easter event. I was so tired I would have rather stayed home, but everything we do is for the kids. At 2 pm we left the house. We rode the subway, then got on a bus, then walked a little. By 2:20 pm we had reached the transport museum. We had already gone there once before at Easter, I think two years ago. We paid and went inside. We had received quiz questions that were all over the museum but the kids only answered two of them. They were just interested in the Easter egg hunt. Thankfully they had organized it a lot better than last time. There were four baskets that were hidden, each with stickers of eggs that were a different color. They had to find all four stickers to get a prize of their choosing. They immediately ran off to find the stickers. They got a tip so we found the first one quickly. Then we found the second one, and they found stickers of the third color on the floor. The fourth basket took a while, and they got a tip again. Then they headed to the prize table to pick something out. Tammy chose a coloring book, and Emmy a subway key ring.

Then we started looking for Randy and Sammy to help them find all the stickers. The two had been in the subway simulator, riding the subway. Soon Sammy also had all four stickers, and he also chose a subway keyring.

The lady at the table then told us that the search for the golden egg was about to begin. Somewhere in the museum a big, golden egg was hidden, and whoever found it would get a special prize. Tammy and Emmy immediately started searching. The rest of us decided to go outside and look for the Easter bunny as Sammy wanted to see him. We went to the tram simulator, and Sammy had fun driving the tram. The other two then also drove a tram after another kid had found the golden egg. Sammy then got to pull the alarm that he cannot pull inside the tram or subway, and he enjoyed the siren.

And then we finally saw the Easter bunny and went after it. The kids got boiled eggs from him. Sammy said he wasn't scared but he sure looked scared.

The kids were not interested in doing the quiz questions, and having been walking around for a  long time, we were pretty much done. There was only one more thing to do which was a ride with the oldtimer tram. It left every half hour. We got on the 4 pm tram. It was pretty cool. Or rather hot as our seat was heated. As it was the first summer day of the year with 26 degrees Celsius temperature, we were really hot! Emmy then walked closer to the driver to watch him, then Tammy did too. Plus the door was open so it was cooler there.

After about 20 minutes we were back at the museum. It was time to go home. We walked to the bus stop, rode it to the subway and rode the subway home where we arrived at 5 pm. I made their sandwiches, then cut up their fruit, then we did piano practice. I sat down to prepare for my 8 pm student, only to realize two hours later that it was Sunday so a day too early for my 8 pm student. I was so tired that I was glad not to have any students. We had plenty of time to read stories before it was time for the children to go to bed. Then it was my turn to get something to eat. After having eaten and had a break, I went back to work.
