HEALING 2 THE NATIONS INTERNATIONAL
Ask of Me, and I will make the nations your inheritance. (Ps 2:8)
Day 2415. It was the last day of the kids' Easter break before going back to school. I got up at 10:15 am to put food into the oven and get ready for my 11 am student. I taught until noon, then got the food ready, and we sat down to eat. After lunch, we left the house at 1:30 pm and took the subway for a few stops. Then we had a little walk to get to the race track. We had been there last year at Easter and liked it, so we were back.
Time was short as the Easter egg hunt started at 2 pm. We bought our tickets and went inside. There were two Easter bunnies right there, so the kids all got a colored, hard-boiled egg from them. Then we continued on and joined the crowd that was waiting for the Easter egg hunt. The lady gave some instructions, then led us to the garden behind the building where all the eggs were "hidden". They were plastic eggs that had stickers inside which was the gift for the kids. She said that one area had easy eggs for little children, and the older kids should go to the other area where they actually have to search for eggs. When she said "start", Tammy and Emmy ran, and Sammy went to the section for little kids where he could easily pick up the eggs on the ground. Every child was allowed 8 eggs, and once everyone had had 8, they could gather as many as they wanted to. All the kids did well, especially Tammy. I got a tip from one of the employees and let Tammy know who then got all the eggs in that nest. They then took the stickers out and returned the empty plastic eggs. All three had plenty of stickers.
Before we left, Randy got to talk to the lady in charge together with Sammy. I then asked her about the other hunt where they had find eggs with a pattern all over the premises, and she told me she hadn't had time to prepare that this year. The kids were disappointed but were ready to head to the jumping castle. On the way there we saw the Easter bunny again, and they all got more hard-boiled eggs.
The kids were having fun on the jumping castle. Randy was helping Sammy jump which is hard work. Emmy was doing flips but couldn't quite stand on his feet after. After a while Tammy wanted to go to face-painting so she stood in line, and I then joined her there. Last year they'd had a sponsor that was handing out lots of gifts but not this year. We had been sitting there for quite some time, admiring the great face painting. This was a professional. Suddenly she came to us saying that she could only do one more person before leaving so several kids including Tammy had to leave without getting painted. One little girl started crying hard as a result.
It was 3 pm, and we had done everything as we were not interested in the horse races. Sammy wanted to see the Easter bunny one more time and give him a hug, and as we walked in the direction of the exit, there he was, and Sammy hugged him. Then we started our long walk back to the subway. We passed the kids' new tennis school where Tammy had done her camp. As Emmy hadn't been there yet, we went inside for a few minutes, just so Emmy could see it. Their class starts in 10 days anyway.
By 3:30 pm we were back home; I was thankful it was still so early as I had plenty of work to do. I was working until they got hungry, then I made dinner for them. At one point we went downstairs for piano practice, and they also did reading practice. At 7 pm it was bathtub time, then story and prayer time. At 8 pm I sat down to teach. Both kids wanted to lie down in our bed but that never works. I told them they could alternate, and Emmy was the one to lie down in our bed. He left once, returned, then left again, so there was no kid in our bed by the time I was done teaching at 9 pm. I then got myself something to eat and took a break before going back to work.
